Today I publish the concept studies for my personal brand new logo.
As long as I have to reinvent my professional identity, I made some studies to create a brand new image that could work with public diffusion and that could represent me and my activity.
I studied the meaning of certain basic shapes, and I immediately chose the triangle: it indicates dynamics, direction, creativity and curiosity for the sight.
Then I decided to turn it upside down, because the reverse triangle is a strong symbol of femininity, because of the pubic shape, but also of masculinity, because it looks like a bull’s head. Also, the Star of David is made of two identical triangles, which represent the male and the female.
In this case the feminine element is stronger, because, following the bull’s head shape, we find another female symbol, because the ancients used to draw it like an uterus and its structure.
So, because of the duality of this mark, I decided to divide it in two identical (or nearly identical) parts.
I chose a very particular colour, which is violet. I chose it for various reasons, but I firstly got inspired by the Pantone industry, who named it as Colour of The Year 2018.
I chose this particular colour also because it’s the colour of creativity and innovation.
Moreover, it is also a symbol of conjucntion between men and women, as it is created by a mix of blue (spiritual colour of the woman) and red (passional colour of the man).
And finally I chose a simple font to type my name with, so that it would just create a nearly invisible line on the top of the triangle. I chose to use a very thin line, because the importance of a logo is its impression at first sight, and its recognisability, even without the text on it.
The final result is a very simple brand, which can be recognised in every situation: miniature, negative, colorless, nameless.
This is a logo that works well on various media, that is likely to be used as a watermark and that represents my works, my personality and my professional identity.
